Rohingya crisis: Army joins relief efforts among refugees

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Bangladesh Army started working on the relief efforts and rehabilitation of Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar.

Army reached at Cox's Bazar on Saturday morning to join the relief distribution. However, the distribution process will be started from Sunday in full swing.

According to government statistics, about four lakh Rohingyas entered Bangladesh since August 25. The Rohingya refugees took shelter in Ukhiya, Teknaf and other areas. Following the Rohingya crisis, a serious chaos was seen in relief distribution. As a result, the government decided to deploy army to ensure smooth relief distribution and rehabilitation.

Cox's Bazar's Assistant police super Babul Bonik said, "The army personnel will control relief transports. They will also work to bring discipline during relief distribution."
