Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasian received the Rohingya people who fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar. There were nearly 2,000 acres of land in Ukhia. They will be sealed there. There will be set up a camp where they have to stay.
"The government is providing place, food and treatment to live. A decision has been finalised that they would stay in the camp. They are not allowed to move out from it," he added.
The IGP said this while replying to a query to the reporters at Kapasia in Gazipur on Saturday afternoon.
He said they (Rohingyas) will be given Identity Card after completing database over them. They will get all kinds of privileges one it is done. Law enforcement agencies have taken responsibility to prevent them to leave the camp.
