Sport Desk: After revealing his ambition to become an actor last year, Cristiano Ronaldo is being lined for a sensational debut TV show role alongside Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.

The Real Madrid forward is set to star in Hayat Koprusu, a Turkish television series, which will be shown in Turkey, the Middle East and Latin America.

Filming, which is due to begin in April, will occur in the south-east of Turkey near the Syrian border and will focus around a Syrian family escaping from the civil war as refugees.

'We will begin filming in the first week of April, the series is about the plight of a refugee family and what they go through,' director Eyup Dirlik told Turkish Football.

'There will be appearances from actors and actresses from all over the world including Cristiano Ronaldo, Angelina Jolie and Nancy Ajram.'

Last year, the former Manchester United favourite admitted he would like to learn more about acting after his days as a player come to an end.

'I would like to learn being surrounded by good actors because only then will I learn since it is an area I do not control because it has nothing to do with football,' he told Sacoor Brothers.

'Why not? It's not my goal at the moment, but I have had some invitations.

'Do not close the doors because it is an area which I like.'

Ronaldo featured for the full 90 minutes in Real's 3-1 Champions League victory against Italian side Napoli on Wednesday evening at the Bernabeu.

Zinedine Zidane's side beat the Serie A outfit thanks to goals from Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Casemiro and they will be looking to hold onto their lead away from home when they meet in the second-leg clash on March 7.

On Wednesday, Ronaldo broke Ryan Giggs' Champions League assist record.

The Portuguese star played in Kroos for his side's second of the night, which edged him ahead of former Manchester United team-mate Ryan Giggs to the top of the all-time Champions League assist charts with 31 in total.

Ronaldo, 32, and his club team-mates face Espanyol on Saturday as they look to maintain their lead at the top of La Liga.
