Rowshan being opposition leader again

Mohammad Naymuddin: Jatiya Party (JP) senior co-chairman Rowshan Ershad, also wife of former president and the party chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad, is being the opposition leader in parliament again.

If she denies to be the opposition leader, the party’s co-chairman GM Kader, also Ershad’s younger brother, is likely to play the role in the parliament subjected to the consent of Rowshan.

However, the decision depends on grand alliance leader, also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the current opposition leader Rowshan.

It was also understood that the elderly Ershad, who suffering illness, also wishes to become opposition leader in parliament. But as being most reliable to PM Sheikh Hasina, finally Rowshan Ershad will be the opposition leader, according to sources of policymakers of the party.

Fakhrul Imam, presidium member of Jatiya Party (JP), said that party leaders want to be with the government as they all are elected from the grand alliance. If Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu can remain with the government, why they will not be part of the government. Even then, if it needs to play role as the opposition party in the parliament for the greater interest, JP will do it. But all the things depend on PM Hasina.
