Staff Correspondent: Rozina Akter, 18, who lost her right leg in a road crash in the capital’s Banani area, has been shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) from National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor) as her condition deteriorated.

He was kept at High Dependency unit of the Burn unit of DMCH.

Dr Samanta Lal Sen, national coordinator at the hospital's burn unit, confirmed the news.

He said, “She was sent to DMCH as she has been suffering from respiratory problems.”

A medical board will be formed to observe her health condition, he added.

An Uttara-bound BRTC double-decker bus coming from Mohakhali hit Rozina, a domestic worker, while she was crossing the road in Chairman Bari area on Friday night.

The rear wheels of the bus ran over her right leg after she was hit by the vehicle.

She was rushed to Nitor immediately after the accident.

Hailing from Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh, Rozina had been working at the house of journalist Ishtiaq Reza in Banani for nine years.
