Rule issued to compensate Tk one crore to Nazim’s family

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain why they should not be directed to pay a compensation of Tk one crore to the family members of Dhaka Tribune employee Nazim Uddin, who was killed in a deadly road crash.
The HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and AKM Jahirul Haque issued the rule on Tuesday.
Home secretary, authority of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and other concerned have been asked to reply to the rule.
Nazim, a senior executive of the Dhaka Tribune’s advertisement department, was killed on Thursday (May 17) as a bus hit his motorcycle while it was trying to overtake another bus and ran over him, on the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in Jatrabari.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors pronounced him dead.
