SI involved in Yaba trafficking arrested

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) was arrested in connection with seizing Yaba shipment at Mirsharai upazila in Chattogram.

SI Badruddoza who was closed to CMP police lines was handed over to Khulshi Police Station on Saturday.

On Friday, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized a mini-truck with 29,285 pieces of Yaba from Redowan Petrol Pump area of Mirsharai. Law enforcers also arrested its driver and his associate.

The arrestees confessed that they were carrying the Yaba hired by CMP SI Badruddoza.

Mimtanur Rahman, assistant director (media) of RAB-7, confirmed the news to risingbd.

He said, “On tipped off, we seized the furniture-laden truck from Mirsharai. The Yaba tablets were found in a steel Almira.”
