‘SUST to be first drug-free university in country’

Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed said, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) will be the first drug free university in the country.

The VC made the opinion while addressing a program at SUST Press Club in Sylhet on Monday (November 18th).

He said, “Teachers and staff also will be going through the dope test. The administration has taken zero tolerance policy against the drugs in the campus. The authority is working to stop the use and selling of drugs in the university dormitories.”

“We are trying to present this university as a role model. Now our main objective is to keep students from all kinds of drugs through applying the dope test process”, he added.

The treasurer Anwarul Islam, Director of Student Advice and Instruction Professor Rashed Talukder, Proctor Professor Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Proctor Abu Heena Pahil, Assistant Proctor Alamgir Kabir and others attended the program.
