Schoolgirl gang-raped at councillor's house

A schoolgirl was allegedly gang-raped at house of a councillor of Godagari municipality in Rajshahi.

Police arrested three people over the incident early Tuesday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam of Godagari Model Police Station confirmed the news.

Arrestees were known as Osman Gani, 16, son of Shahidul Islam, Riduar Ali Khandoker, 16, son of Obaidul Haque of Shreemohonto area under ward no. 6 of the municipality and Tarek Rahman, 17, son of Mostafa of Jodgemadais neighbouring area. They are students of class-IX and X.

OC said the schoolgirl of class-IX had love affairs with councillor’s son Osman Gani. He took the girl to the councillor’s home on Monday evening. There they gang-raped her.

Later on Monday night, victim’s father filed a case against the three.

The victim was sent to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital for check up.
