Secretary among 5 officials face contempt of court rule

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) issued a rule asking the authorities concerned as to why five government officials including a secretary and a deputy secretary should not be given punishment for their contempt of court.

The five officials against whom the contempt of court rule was issued are Secretary to Local Government Division (LGD) Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, Deputy Secretary Dr Julia Moin, Pirojpur’s Deputy Commissioner Abu Ahmed Siddique, Nazirpur Upzila Parisad Chairman Nazrul Islam Khan and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zumur Bala.

An HC bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice KM Kamrul Kader issued the rule on Tuesday.
