Section 144 notices imposed in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj Correspondent: The upazila administration imposed section 144 in the Pakundia municipal and adjacent area to avert any untoward incident centering tension between two groups.

Police said that upazila parishad chairman and Awami League joint convener Rafiqul Islam organized a rally in Sadar Eidgah. He also started campaign following the programme from last couple of days. But, local Awami Juba League and Chhatra League called programme yesterday in the same venue which created tension in the area.

Later, the upazila administration imposed the restriction on Sunday night for an indefinite period.

Additional police forces were deployed in the area.
