Security tightened around Kakrail mosque

Staff Correspondent: Police have tightened the security measures around the Kakrail mosque, popularly known as Tablig jamaat mashjid, as Tabligh-Jamaat Scholar Maulana Saad Kandhalvi is staying in the mosque.

Maruf Hossain Sardar, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told risingbd on Wednesday evening that followers of Tabligh-Jamaat started gathering in front of the mosque from Asr prayer. So, security has been tightened to avoid any unexpected incident.

Police said all people headed to the mosque are under surveillance.  Security has also been tightened in the mosque premises and its surroundings. For the sake of security, people coming for prayers in the mosque are being requested to move to the nearby mosque at Hare Road. The security measures will be continued till  Maulana Saad will stay here.

It may be mentioned that several thousands of Tabligh-Jamaat men gathered in front of the entrance of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday morning protesting the arrival of Maulana Saad for his “controversial comments”.
