Sequels to 3 Idiots and PK on cards

Entertainment Desk: Rajkumar Hirani is extremely nervous as he awaits the release of Sanju, a biopic of Sanjay Dutt written and directed by him.

“I do get the jitters. The unit knows that and they joke about it. I just hope the audience enjoys this film,” he says.

The filmmaker, who has delivered some of the industry’s biggest hits in the past, including the Munna Bhai franchise, 3 Idiots, and PK, has some exciting plans for the future. Confirming rumours, Hirani says, “I want to make sequels to both 3 Idiots and PK.”

But he believes in spending enough time developing a script, and he is in no mood to compromise on his writing. “I have some ideas in mind, but they haven’t been developed yet. I definitely want to make a sequel to 3 Idiots because the journey was so much fun,” he says, adding, “Abhijaat (writer) and I have sat down and started writing for the 3 Idiots sequel. The idea is pretty much there, but it needs to be fleshed out,” he says.
