‘Seven Star group’ ringleader killed in ‘gunfight’

Staff Correspondent: A suspected criminal was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at Basila Garden City in the capital’s Mohammadpur area early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Tanvir Ahmed Anik, 36. Rab said he was the ringleader of notorious criminal gang ‘Seven Star group’.
According to police, the gunfight took place around 3.45pm in Basila Garden City area. Two members of the elite force were also injured.
The body has been kept at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
