Sheikh Hasina launches polls campaign

Badal Saha, From Tungipara: Prime Minister, also Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has started polls campaign for her party, offering wreaths at Bangabandhu shrine in Tungipara.

The premier reached Tungipara by road around 2:00pm. She placed wreaths at the shrine of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman around 2:10pm.

After placing the wreaths, the prime minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu.

Bangabandhu’s youngest daughter Sheikh Rehana and other family members including Sheikh Selim, central party leaders including disaster management minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, several party candidates from greater Faridpur accompanied the premier as she paid the tributes as the Awami League chief.

Later, she joined a rally at Kotalipara as part of election campaign around 3:00pm.
