Should have confidence on PM over quota: Quader

Secretariat Correspondent: Road Transports and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said those want logical solution over quota system should have confidence and belief on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s announcement made in the parliament in this regard. But it is different for the people who want to do politics over the matter.

In reply to a query, the Awami League (AL) general secretary told this to the reporters at the conference room of the ministry at the Secretariat on Sunday.

Quader said, “Our all-out efforts are on to reach a logical solution in this regard. So, I’m urging them (quota protesters) to have patience. They will get solution immediately. It is not appropriate to boycott classes and examinations over the issue.”

“Have confidence on PM’s words. The process of issuing gazette notification over quota system is not discontinued. It will be published in time,” he told for the demonstrators.

He said, “Our prime minister has cleared her stand in the parliament over the quota system. It will not be existed any more. PM Sheikh Hasina does what she says. She does not go back from her words. There many types of quota. Now it is being tried to integrate all of the quotas.”
