Six Tabligh men restricted to enter Kakrail Mosque

Staff Correspondent: A restriction on six scholars has been imposed following a clash between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat (Preaching Party) in the capital's Kakrail Mosque.

The decision came at an emergency meeting held in presence of law enforcers at the mosque on Saturday following the clash.

A meeting source said the six scholars--Syed Wasif, Mowlana Jubair, Abdullah Monsur, Dr Erteza Hasan, engineer Mahfuz Hannan and Dr Asgor--have been asked not to enter the mosque until May 1.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will solve the ongoing crisis of Tabligh Jamaat after discussing with its top leaders. But it will take time to reach a solution as the home minister is now abroad, the source said.

Earlier in the day, the two factions of Tabligh Jamaat locked into a scuffle, prompting the law enforcers to intervene the matter.
