'Social networks to remain shut during SSC exams'

Senior Correspondent: All types of coaching centers, social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter will remain closed during the during the upcoming SSC examinations.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid came up with the announcement while addressing a press conference in the secretariat on Tuesday.

He said, "Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations of 2018 are scheduled to begin on February 1. The education ministry is serious to stop question leakage. That’s why the decision was taken to prevent question leaks during examinations."

"All social networking sites including Facebook, twitter will remain closed for three hours during the examinations. It would be for only a limited time. So, no one will face loss," he added.

Nahid also said that letter was sent to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in this regard.
