Son murders father in Cox's Bazar

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: A son killed his father following family feud in JM Ghat Himchhari area under Moheshkhali upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Kala Mia, 65, son of late Ali Hossain.

Moheshkhali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prodip Kumar Das said that the incident took place around 11:00am.

Quoting locals, OC said, "Kala Mia had lost his wife 3/4 months ago. His wife has some land property. The victim wanted to get married again. But, his son assumed that there would be a problem over the land property if his father Kala Mia gets married again. There was dispute following the issue."

The victim recently gets married again. Following quarrel with son, Kala Mia filed a complaint on August 31. The son Nezam Uddin attacked his father with sharp weapon this morning, leaving him critically injured.  Later, he was taken to Moheshkhali Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.
