The glorious Independence Day

Today, March 26, is the glorious Independence and National Day of Bangladesh. It was the opening moment of the final battle of freedom movement for the Bengali nation.

On the day, the nation started the Liberation War against Pakistan forces. Since, country's people earned the victory after a nine-month long bloody battle.

As the Independence Day is the history of being animated with the promise of liberty, the nation is celebrating the 47th Independence and National Day through paying due respects to the Liberation War heroes and with a promise to materialise their dreams.

On the night of March 25, Pakistani military conducted a cowardly attack on innocent sleeping Dhaka people. They conducted a mass killing at different places in Dhaka including Pilkhana, EPR, Rajarbag Police Lines and Dhaka University along with student hotels and teachers' residences.

Early the March 26, Pakistan forces arrested Bengali's unanimous leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from his Dhanmondi residence. He, however, announced the Independence of Bangladesh before being arrested that animated the freedom loving people to participate in the battle field.

Later on, they built out and out preventions against the Pakistan forces one by one. They formed a government in exile crowning Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as president, separated the country into several sectors and formed several forces inlcuding Mukti Bahini (freedom fighters), Guerilla Bahini and Mujib Bahini to conduct the Liberation War.

Finally on December 16 of the year, the nation earned the victory with the sacrifices of three million lives and the supreme honour of thousands of women. It is obviously undeniable that there are a few nations in the world who made such sacrifices for their freedom.

After the victory in the Liberation War, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman started to reconstruct the war torn country. But, the anti-liberation forces ended all his efforts and dreams through killing him along with the family in 1975.

Later on, Khandakar Mushtaq Ahmed and military dictators who were mainly associates of the defeated forces established misruling in the country respectively.

They tried to hurt the country's constitution again and again, but country's people prevented their evil efforts. Now the country is being ruled by Awami League, the party led the Liberation War 1971. With its leadership, the country is moving forward in the fields of socio-economic swiftly.

The party also started to execute the anti-liberation people through forming an International Crimes Tribunal. Several war criminals were already executed for their crimes against humanity during the liberation war in 1971. The nation must witness the eradication of the shame once the trials complete.
