The man is a listed criminal: RAB

Staff Correspondent: The man killed in a commando operation during his alleged attempt to hijack a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft is a listed criminal, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of RAB's legal and media wing, confirmed the matter on Monday.

The fingerprint of the ‘hijacker’ got matched with that of the listed criminal, said Mahmud after analysing their criminal database.

As per the RAB database, the man was identified as Md Polash Ahmed, son of Piar Jahan Sarder, a resident of Dudhghata of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district.

According to the passenger list of the aircraft, he was a passenger of domestic flight of Dhaka-Chattogram route and his name was mentioned as Ahmed/Md Polash, seat No- 17-A.
