Three children of a family drown in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: Three children of a family drowned in a pond at Kathalbaria village in Nurullaganj union under Bhanga upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Jimi Akter, 7, Sajjad, 3, children of Jamiluddin Matubbor and Rimi Akter, 6, daughter of Basar Matubbor. Basar Matubbor is the brother of Jamiluddin Matubbor.

Family sources said that the three children drowned into the pond while taking bath around 1:00 pm.

Later, locals rescued the children and rushed them to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared them dead, said Kazi Saidur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhanga Police Station.

Jimi and Sajjad, who used to live at Sadarpur area in the upazila, went to their uncle’s house to attend a Iftar mahfil.
