Three of a family killed in Bandarban landslide

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Three members of a family were killed in landslide triggered by incessant rain at Kalaiyar para area in Sarai Union Parishad under Lama upazila of Bandarban on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Md Hanif, 35, his wife and their child. The names of Hanif’s wife and child could not be known immediately.

All the three members of the family were killed as a chunk of mud fell on their house in Sarai union around 2:00pm, said In-Charge of Lama Sarai Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Abul Kashem.

On information, firefighters rushed in and they with the help of locals recovered the bodies from under the mud, he said.
