Tk 15 lakh snatched, 2 shot

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Armed muggers shot and injured two Bikash and Robi employees and took away Tk 15 lakh in broad daylight at Chandona intersection area on Sunday.

The bullet-hit are Bikash employee Iqbal Hossain, 35, and Robi employee Asaduzzaman, 30.

Locals firstly rushed them to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital. Later, they were referred to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Zakir Hossain and Mahbub Hossain, Bikash and Robi manager of Zomadar Enterprise respectively, said, “Zomadar Enterprise is local agent of Bikash and Robi at Chandona Chourasta area.  Three employees of Bikash and Robi went to UCBL at Unishe Tower of the area with Tk 15 around 10:30am. Four armed muggers stopped them on gun-point when they reached near the building. At one stage, the muggers fired several rounds of bullets and fled the scene with the money, leaving Iqbal and Asad wounded at their legs."

The Muggers left a revolver with five rounds of bullets while they fled the scene, according to Joydevpur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Enayet Hossain.
