Tk 23 lakh looted from bank at gunpoint

Staff Correspondent: A person allegedly looted nearly Tk 23 lakh at gunpoint from a branch of Premier Bank at Link Road of the capital’s Badda area on Monday afternoon.

Yeasin Gazi, Officer-in-Charge (OC-operation) of Badda Police Station confirmed the news on Tuesday.

He quoting bank authorities said, “A person suddenly entered the bank. He directly went to the manager room. He kept him at gunpoint and forced others to enter the vault room. Later, he looted Tk 23 lakh from the vault.”

Footages of Close Circuit (CC) cameras could not be rescued. But an attempt of identifying the robbers is going on after collecting CC camera footages of neighbouring buildings, police said.

However, missing of CC camera footages of the bank put probe officials concerned in thought.
