Transport strike underway for 2nd day in Barisal

Staff Correspondent, Barisal: Thousands of people on Thursday suffered as a transport strike, enforced by Barisal bus owners association and Jhalakathi bus owners association, entered second day. 

Following the transport strike, 17 routes of south-western part of the country remained stranded.

Sufferings of passengers mounted as the Barisal district bus and minibus owners-workers coordinate council joined the strike.  

Barisal divisional road transport owners-workers general secretary Azizur Rahman Shahin said they would continue the strike till all buses would be permitted to go through Jhalakati route.
