Two Viqarunnisa teachers get bail

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka granted bail to suspended two teachers in a case filed on charges of provoking a ninth-grader student to Aritree commit suicide.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury passed the bail order after hearing on Monday noon.

The two teachers’ are- Principal Naznin Ferdous and teacher Jeenat Ara, the general registration officer of the concerned police station confirmed.

Aritree Adhikari, a Class-IX student, reportedly committed suicide at their Shantinagar residence in the city on December 3 after allegedly being rebuked by teachers for using mobile phone during examination.

Later, the victim’s father filed a case with Paltan police station on December 4.
