Two drown in Joypurhat

Two persons including a child drowned in separate incidents Panchbibi and Akkelpur upazila in Joypurhat on Saturday.

According police and locals, Imran Hossain Rafi fell into a neighbouring pond when he was playing on its bank. Later, his body found floating. Imran is son of Golam Rosul of Chukaibari under Akkelpur upazila of the district.

Meanwhile, elderly man Bimal Chandra fell into a pond near his home at Roghunathpur while he was fishing. Later, relatives found him floating on water. He was whisked off to Panchbibi Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Bimal Chandra was son of Gupi Krishna of Roghunathpur in Panchbibi upazila.

Panchbibi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mansur Rahman and Akkelpur Police Station Inspector (OC-Investigation) Selim Malek confirmed the matter respective.
