Two drug peddlers killed in Teknaf

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in a gunfight between two groups of drug traders in Mina Bazar area of Hoikong union under Teknaf upazila of the district early Monday.

The deceased were known as Delwar Hossain alias Rubel, 20, son of Farid Alam, hailed from Morichyaghona area and Mohammad Rafiq, 55, son of Safar Mia, hailed from Jhimongkhali.

Pradip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, said the two drug traders were wanted in drug smuggling cases.

Noticing the bodies in the area, locals informed police station this morning. Later, police recovered the bodies. Meanwhile, 4,000 pieces of Yaba, two locally made guns and seven rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.

The bodies were sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, OC added.
