Two held with 54kg hemp in Comilla

Comilla Correspondent: Police have detained two drug smugglers with 54kg of hemp from Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla.

The duo along with the hemp was detained from Meghna-Gumti Bridge toll plaza in Daudkandi upazila after searching a private car (Dhaka Metro-Ga-23-7281) there on Friday morning.

The detainees are Zahir Uddin, 32, son of Ator Ali and Zaman Hossain, 30, son of Anwar Hossain.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive at the area in the morning and nabbed the duo with 54kg of hemp, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daudkandi Model Police Station Mizanur Rahman who led the drive.

A case was filed with Daudkandi Model Police Station in this regard, the OC said.
