Two killed as bus hits tree in Gopalganj

Two women were killed and 15 others injured as a passenger bus hit a roadside tree after its driver lost control over the steering on Gopalganj-Tekerhat road at Vennabari in Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Romicha Begum, 50, wife of Nuru Mollah from Chamta village of the upazila and Shefali Bala, 40, wife of Subol Bala of Muksudpur area of the same upazila.

Confirming the matter, Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, said the bodies of the two women were recovered from the spot and the injured were given primary treatment.
