Two killed in Sitakunda bus-truck collision

Staff Correspondent: Two people were killed and ten others injured as a bus collided head-on with a truck on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Barobkunda in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong.

The deceased were identified as Kamruzzaman Mollik, 37, and Md Masud, 35.

The accident took place around 4:30am on Friday.

Kumira highway police inspector Jahangir Alam said a truck hit a Chittagong-bound bus of Saudia Paribahan from Dhaka near Barobkunda power distribution centre around 4:30am, leaving 12 passengers of the bus injured.

The injured were whisked off to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared Kamruzzaman and Masud dead, he said.
