Two lakh selected students ignore HSC admission

Staff Correspondent: More than two lakh students, who were selected in the first merit list for admission to class XI for the academic session of 2017-2018, have ignored the admission. They did not pay admission fees within the due time (June 8).

Ashfakus Salehin, College Inspector of Inter-education Board, confirmed the news.

He said the students might have skipped the selection as they did not get colleges as per their choice despite the enhancement of submitting admission fees.

According to Inter-education Board, the authorities have fixed till mid night of June 8 from June 6. Later, it was enhanced till June 10 midnight as the number of admission assurance was very poor. Even then, 2 lakh and 12 thousand students did not pay admission fees within the time.

However, the authorities are thinking freshly over the students who skipped the selection. A meeting is expected to be held in this regard on Sunday. A new decision is likely to be taken for the students, sources said.
