Two women killed by bus, vehicles vandalised

Staff Correspondent: Two women have been killed by a bus in the capital’s Malibag area.
The incident took place in front of Abul Hotel of Malibag on Tuesday noon.
The deceased were known as Nahid Parvin Poly and Mim. They were garment workers.
After the incident, deceased’s co-workers took the Rampura-Badda road and vandalized some vehicles. They also threw brick chips at police and blocked the road.
Later, additional police men were deployed to bring the situation under control.
Vehicle movement were suspended on the road till the report was filed around 5:45pm.
Abu Md Fazlul Karim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatirjhil Police Police Station, confirmed the news.
He said, “The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.”
A garment worker Belal said, “The bus was running recklessly, leaving our two sisters. We took the street in protest of the accident.”
According to our DMCH Correspondent, Poly hailed from Syedpur in Nilphamari. She was residing in a rented house at Noayatola of Mogbazar. Mim was residing with her.
