UP member among 2 killed in M’singh road crash

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: Two people including a Union Parishad (UP) member were killed in a road accident at Ishwarganj upazila in the district early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mortuza Ali Sarkar, 55, a member of ward number-4 of Maizbag union of the upazila and Shahin Mia, 28.

Md Badrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ishwarganj Police Station, said the motorcycle the duo was riding was crushed when a car hit the motorcycle at Bottola bazar area of the upazila, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

The bodies were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
