UP member chopped to death in Narsingdi

Narsingdi Correspondent: A union parishad (UP) member was chopped to death by miscreants at Tulatuli village in Raipura upazila of the district on Sunday evening.

 

The deceased was identified as Mojibur Rahman, 45, member (ward no 9) of Alipura union parishad and son of late Sultan Uddin of the village.

 

Sources said Mojibur was returning home after buying husks for cows from Tulatuli bazaar. He was found lying at a place near his home at around 7:00pm.

 

Later, locals rushed him to Raipura Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

 

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Raipura Police Station Mazharul Islam said the UP member might have been killed following a previous enmity.
