Voting in Khulna-4 by-polls on Sep 20

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday set September 20 for voting in the by-election to the Khulna-4 parliamentary constituency.

According to the schedule, the last day for filing nominations is August 26 while officials will scrutinise those on August 28.

The deadline for withdrawing candidacy is September 4. The same day the polls symbols will be allotted and the official campaigning will kick-off.

The seat fell vacant after the ruling Awami League (AL) lawmaker SM Mostafa Rashidi Suja died on July 26 while undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital.

The 68-year-old was a three-time lawmaker from Khulna-4 representing Rupsha, Terokhada and Dighalia.
