Voting to be shut if violence in Rangpur city polls: CEC

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said that voting will be stopped if violence takes place in any voting centers of Rangpur city corporation polls.

The CEC made the opinion made the assertion while addressing newsmen at Election Commission (EC) media center in the capital on Sunday.

Nurul Huda said, "The law enforcement agencies assured us that Ranpur City polls will be fair and neutral."

In reply to a question, the CEC said, "We will hold a free, fair and neutral election. There is nothing to fear for BNP."

The law enforcement agencies were requested to take steps to ensure security so that voters can return to home after voting.
