Akram Hossain: The three-storey Walton Mega Pavilion, set up at the ground of 22nd Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) scheduled to begin on January 1, 2017 at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital, has been decorated with eye-caching selfie corner and transparent display.

The selfie corner has 14 feet widths entrance or exit gate, 7 feet widths stairs for easy moving in different floors, ramp stair for physically sick or disabled visitors and buyers, enormous safety equipments.
 
With the aim of luring buyers and visitors, the country’s electronics giant Walton Group has set up the eye-catching 3-storey ‘mega premier pavilion’ on 15,000 square feet at the premises of the upcoming month-long 22nd Dhaka International Trade Fair-2017.

In the 22-years history of Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF), Walton for the first time erected a 3-storey mega premier pavilion.
 
Architect Sadde Mohammad Rumman, assistant general manager (interior design) of Walton Group, said, they established the mega pavilion combining its two premier pavilions Number-26&27) under the approval of the fair’s authority.
 
Each floor of the pavilion possesses 5,000 square feet space, he said adding, an attractive selfie corner has been set up at the first floor for the selfie lovers.

Besides, a modern lift with well-spaced is set up so that the visitors could easily move among the pavilion floors. A 16 feet widths entrance and exit gate will be available at the pavilion so that large number of buyers or visitors at a time can pass through the gate, Mohammad Rumman said.

In addition, there will be a ramp stair for the easy movement of the physically sick or disabled buyers or visitors, he informed.
 
Kafi Aman, head of Brand Development Department of Walton Group, said, this year, a 46-inch transparent display will be set up at the pavilion to inform the visitors about the production procedures, necessary raw materials and the special uniqueness of different products of Walton brand.
 
Dwelling on the safety issue, Architect Rina Chowdhury, senior deputy director of Walton Group, said, “We followed the green-technology method during the establishment of Walton Mega Pavilion at the DITF-17.

Emphasising the safety issues, Walton used high quality steel made beam, frame, Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) board, glass as well as other fire and safety equipments. Adequate fire extinguisher will also be at the pavilion, she said adding: the fire resistant capacities of the used ACP board and steel are up to at least 90 minutes.
 
About 90 percent construction materials of the pavilion are reusable, she noted.

Md Humayun Kabir, executive director (PR and Media) of Walton Group, said the architectural design of the pavilion was prepared conforming to the company’s ‘sky high’ desire—reaching the premier position in the world electronics market. As we secured the premier position in both the production and the sales of electronics products, we also want to secure the apex position in setting up pavilion with attractive architectural design.
 
Walton set up the mega pavilion in the east side of the fountain nearest to the main entrance gate of the fair.
 
More than 400 models of world-class electronics and electrical appliances of Walton brand, including refrigerators, fridges, LED televisions, air conditioners, generators, laptops, mobile phones, washing machines, electric and microwave ovens, induction cookers, blenders, electric switch-socket, rechargeable battery, LED bulb, and other home and electrical appliances will be displayed in the pavilion.
 
Mentionable, Walton secured the first prizes of both the highest Vat Payer Award and the Best Premier Pavilion Award in the last DITF-16.
