Walton launches 7th generation laptop

Akram Hossain: The country’s electronics giant Walton launched seventh generation laptop in the local computer market, featured with 15.6-inch High Definition LCD Display, 2.4 Gigahertz Core-i3 7100U processor, built-in Intel HD Graphics 620, 1 terabyte Hard disk drive, 4GB DDR4 RAM, Bangla font on keyboard, genuine software of Bijoy Bangla and 2 years warranty facility.

Along with this, three new models of laptops were also unveiled at a launching programme at the conference room of Walton Media Office in the capital on Thursday morning. From now, the new models of laptops are available at all Walton Plazas and the company’s branded outlets across the country.

The launching ceremony was attended by President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and inventor of Bijoy Bangla Mustafa Jabbar as chief guest. Eva Rizwana, Chief Marketing Coordinator of Walton, Executive Directors Amdadul Haque Sarker, SM Zahid Hasan and Humayun Kabir, Additional Director Firoj Alam and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.

 


The officials informed that these new laptops, Model no: WP157U3G, WP15B71G, WP15B71B and WT15B71G, were added to the existing Passion and Tamarind series of Walton brand laptop. The local company set the prices of the new laptops at Tk 35,990, Tk 24,990, Tk 24,550 and Tk 23,990 respectively. Now, Walton is marketing a total of 26 models of laptops under four series like Passion, Tamarind, Waxjambu and Karonda. Walton offers 2 years free service warranty and six months warranty on Battery for its all models of laptops.

The each of the other three new model of laptop featured with 1.6 Gigahertz Quad Core Processor, 14.1-inch and 15.1-inch HD LCD Display, Built-in HD 405 Graphics Card, 500GB HDD, 4GB DDR3L RAM which is expandable up to 8 GB.

Speaking at the event, Mustafa Jabbar said that two things should be ensured to provide every people of the country a digital device. First, the device should be manufactured locally and second, it should be affordable and Walton is doing so. In this regard, Walton has become a role model. He also opined that foreign brands always seek more profit but the goal of local brands is to provide quality devices at affordable prices.

Mustafa Jabbar added that the new models of Walton laptops are 20 percent price-efficient compared to the other brands laptops available in the local market.

 


“During a visit to Walton factory, I noticed that the local company is manufacturing wide ranges of high-tech products like motherboard of LED television. I was also very glad to know that computer motherboards would be manufactured at Walton factory very soon,” he said hoping that the government would frame suitable VAT policy for the local brands in manufacturing digital devices.

The launching of cheap rates’ laptops in the local market also fulfilled the long-cherished demands of both the students and their parents for the laptops beyond their buying capacity, he added.

Mentionable, customers can also buy Walton brand laptops at 12-month installment facility by only paying 20 percent down payment.
