Walton receives three awards in DITF-19

Md Humayun Kabir, executive director of Walton Group, is receiving the trophy of the ‘Best Premier Pavilion Award’ from Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce Ministry Tofail Ahmed at the concluding ceremony of DITF-19

Economic Reporter: The country’s electronics giant Walton Group got total of three awards under three categories in the just ended month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF-2019) on Saturday.

Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited secured the first prize of the Best Premier Pavilion Category for its eye-catching and beautiful 3-storey Walton Pavilion at this year’s expo. The company’s another brand Marcel’s Pavilion also got the first prize of the Best General Pavilion Award in the DITF. In addition, Walton Hi-Tech Industries honored with the second highest VAT paying company of the country’s mega expo for depositing total of Tk 41,01,732 VAT.



As special guest of DITF-19 Concluding Ceremony, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce Ministry Tofail Ahmed handed over the trophy of ‘Best Premier Pavilion Award’ to Walton Group’s Executive Director Md. Humayun Kabir.

Besides, Marcel Head of Sales Dr. Md Sakhawat Hossen, and Walton Group’s Deputy Operative Director Md. Mujahidul Islam took Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi handed over the trophy of ‘Best General Pavilion Award’ to Marcel Head of Sales Dr. Md Sakhawat Hossen and the crest of the second prize of ‘Best VAT Payer Award’ to  Walton Group’s Deputy Operative Director Md. Mujahidul Islam as the chief guest.



Acting Commerce Secretary SM Rejoan Hossain addressed the function as special guest while EPB’s Vice-Chairman Bijoy Bhattacharya was in the chair.

In his immediate reaction, Humayun Kabir said: “The awards will encourage us in bringing new technologies based high-tech appliances at affordable rates.



Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that this year’s fair was very much successful in terms of the crowds, products sales, spot orders and all other sides of the previous years’ fair.

This year’s fair received nearly Tk200 crore spot orders, he noted.
