Water vessel services suspended due to bad weather

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended operations of all types of water vessels in various routes of the country due to bad weather.
Joint Director of BIWTA Alamgir Kabir said the authorities concerned suspended the plying of launches, ferries and speedboats across the country around 12pm.
The suspension will remain enforced until further notice, he added.
Besides, the BMD office issued a warning message predicting heavy to heavy rainfall with gusty or squally wind in 48 hours.
Under the influence of severe thunderstorm activity heavy to heavy rainfall with gusty or squally wind is likely to occur over regions of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Jashore, Kushtia, Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Dhaka, Cumilla and Noakhali during the next 48 hrs commencing.
