Woman-child recovered from militant den

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Law enforcers recovered a woman and a child from a militant den at Trimohoni village under Shibganj upazila of Chapainababganj on Thursday afternoon.

They were sent to to Chapainababganj Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Police claimed law enforcers continuously urged militants to surrender around 4:15pm on Thursday. But nobody responded then. At one stage, sound of explosion was heard from the hideout.

Later, law enforcers stormed the house and firstly recovered the woman and a child after a while, police said.

Earlier, police cordoned off the house early Wednesday.

Mujahidul Islam, Superintendent of Police (SP0 of Chapainababganj, said the step was taken on information of being militants staying there.
