Women MPs’ tenure being extended to 25 years

Senior Reporter: The government has moved to make the 17th amendment to the constitution to extend the tenure of women in reserved seats in parliament to 25 years.
The cabinet approved the draft of the law at its regular meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Monday.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said this to the newsmen after the meeting.
The 10-year tenure of reserved seat MP system is going to end on January 24, 2019.
