Writ filed seeking guideline in sheltering Rohingyas

Staff Correspondent: A Supreme Court (SC) lawyer has filed a writ petition with the High Court (HC) seeking a direction to formulate proper guideline in sheltering Rohingya refugees.

Lawyer Tanzim Al Islam filed the writ to the relevant branch of the Supreme Court for public interest on Sunday.

More than 400,000 Rohingya people have fled to Bangladesh after the Myanmar military launched a counter-offensive following attacks by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) insurgents on 30 police posts and an army base on August 25.

The persecuted Rohingya refugees are currently staying at temporary camps in Cox’s Bazar.
