Youth hacked dead in Satkhira

Satkhira Correspondent: A young man was hacked to death by his cousin over seeking return the lending money of Tk 100 at Digong village in Helatola union of Kolaroa upazila on Friday evening.

The deceased was identified as Rubel Hossain, 30, son Hasan Ali Dofadar of the village.

Biplab Kumar Nath, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kolaroa Police Station, said Rubel locked into an altercation with his cousin, Abu Sayed, an examinee of upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and son of Afsar Ali of the village over seeking return the lending money.

Later, Sayed hacked Rubel over the altercation, leaving him critically injured.

On information, local people rushed Rubel to Kolaroa hospital. Later, Rubel was being shifted to Satkhira Sadar hospital as his condition started deteriorating. But he died on the way to the hospital, the OC said.

They are trying to arrest Abu Sayed, the police official added.
