Youth held with 91kg cannabis in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Directorate of Narcotics Control has detained a youth with 91 kilogram of cannabis from Tongi of Gazipur on Tuesday.

The detainee is identified as Badruzzaman Badi, 26, son of Nawshed Ali, hailed from Maindarbari of Sribardi Thana in Sherpur.

SM Rasel Islam Nur, Assistant Director of Directorate of Narcotics Control, said that acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers conducted a drive in Tongi's Hazi Mazar slum around 6:00am found 73 packets of cannabis weighing 91 kilograms.

A case will be filed with Tongi police station, he added.
