Youth stabbed dead for resisting sexual harassment

Chuadanga Correspondent:   A youth has been stabbed dead by a criminal for resisting sexual harassment and abduction attempt to his niece.

After the incident, the criminal Akbar, 35, was beaten to death by angry mob.

The incident took place at Amirpur village in Chuadanga Sadar upazila on Friday midnight.

The youth who was stabbed to death was identified as Hasan, son of Hamidul of the area.

According to locals, Akbar entered the house of Hamidul at night and attempted to abduct her school-going granddaughter, Sumaya, 14.

Hearing scream of the schoolgirl, family members rushed to her room when Akbar stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving them critically injured.

At one stage, neighbors caught Akbar and beat him up indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.

Injured Hasan, Hamidul and the girl were taken to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Hasan dead.
