New Zealand win toss, opt to bat first

Sports Desk:  New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat against Pakistan in the must-win clash at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Wednesday.

The toss was delayed by an hour due to a wet outfield from the overnight drizzle.

There will be no loss of overs.

New Zealand are unbeaten in this World Cup and standing at the second position of the point table with 11 points after playing six matches. They will confirm their place in the semi-finals of the World Cup after Australia if they secure win today.

On the other hand, Pakistan stand at seventh position of the point table with five points after playing six matches.
