Zia Charitable Trust graft: Khaleda's bail extended till Mar 13

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has extended the bail of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case until 13 March.
Judge of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-5 Dr Md Akhteruzzaman passed the order on Monday.
The court also fixed 14 March for Khaleda's appearing before the court.
Otherwise a production warrant will be issued, said the judge.
Earlier, the case procedure was started around 11:00am. ACC Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal appealed before the court seeking Khaleda Zia's appearance.
Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia's lawyer Abdur Rezzak Khan said as Khaleda Zia is staying in jail. So, there is no scope to run the hearing without her presence.
On February 8, Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia was jailed for five years in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka’s Fifth Special Judge’s Court delivered the verdict in the graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) during the last army-backed caretaker government in 2008.
